Celebrating 37 years of Service & Hospitality to our LGBT Community…


On May 5,1980 Hidden Door (originally located on King Street & Morgan) was opened by owner Jim aka “Pollock”. In Conjunction with “Hidden Door” in Dallas, Texas, this establishment was Corpus Christi’s first Leather Bar which ran smoothly and comfortably for 6 years. In 1987, the establishment was relocated to 802 S. Staples Street under the management of Andy White.

Hidden Door has successfully raised money for many non-profit organizations such as Coastal Bend Aids Foundation, Loving Spoonful, The Rainbow Room, Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, HALO Flight, P.A.W.S. Foundation, The Food Pantry, Metropolitan Community Church, and the Woman’s Shelter. Hidden Door has also housed many LGBT Clubs:Silver Dolphins, Motorcycle Club of Corpus Christi, Texas Gay Rodeo Association, Bay Area Levis & Leather Society, and South Texas Leather-Men Association to name a few…

Often used for “Celebration of Life” ceremonies e.g. Weddings, Anniversaries, B-Day celebrations, Fundraisers, Cookouts, and Benefit Shows, Hidden Door is currently involved with The Corpus Christi Wellness Foundation, Friends for Causes, Coastal Bend Trans Alliance, the Bear and Leather Corps of Corpus Christi, and is the “Home Bar for Life” for the Imperial Court of the Texas Rivera Empire. T.R.E, a non-profit organization, raises money and awareness for other local non-profit organizations that have been an influential positive force in our community…

In 2005, Bill & Jim Brown took over management. Within the past 10 years, there have been many renovations including the remodeling of the floors, building a beautiful balcony, and a spacious patio equipped with TV’s and stylish decor. “The Loft”, an exclusive upstairs piano bar, open Fridays & Saturdays features the multi-talented Matt Krebs. Featured upcoming events include the 37 year Anniversary Celebration May 5th – 7th with awesome drink specials, live mariachis, drag shows, and a live performances. The Hidden Door prides itself with this Motto “We are ALL Family” & We will “ALWAYS” give back to our community…
